MONOPOLY TEA TOUR | REVIEW

Monopoly Tea Tour
Rating: ★★★★★

Experience the ultimate blend of adventure and indulgence with the MONOPOLY Tea Tour! This unique experience combines a London sightseeing bus tour, with a scrumptious afternoon tea, plus a captivating digital twist on the classic Monopoly game.

Complete activities and puzzles, buy properties, charge rent, compete against family & friends and earn as much money as you can, while you tour around the streets of Central London taking in the iconic sights.

Brigit's Bakery are well known for their afternoon teas, and more specifically, their afternoon teas served on their tour buses; offering you the unique opportunity to enjoy high quality food whilst enjoying the sights of London. However, their most recent tea tour is themed around the classic board game, Monopoly and includes the additional bonus of getting to play the iconic game while visiting some of the locations on the board!

Ticket prices for this particular tour start at £58 per adult and £53 per child. At first glance this may seem overly expensive but the food, theming, sightseeing and entertainment makes the experience worth every penny.

Much like their previous tours, an extensive range of drinks and delicious food are included in the ticket price (see image below). The afternoon tea is striking as you take your seats on the bus. Served on a double-level platter and overflowing with tasty themed treats such as a Pass GOlden chocolate brownie and Mr Monopoly's Millionaire Cheesecake. And of course, served with warm scones and traditionally British afternoon tea sandwiches.

As a gluten free guest, I'm always apprehensive eating somewhere new, but the gluten free version was clearly marked and only looked slightly different from the standard version which I was extremely impressed with. Previous afternoon teas I've reviewed have had limited alternatives so this was a pleasant surprise. In fact, it was the most delicious afternoon tea I've ever eaten; gluten free or otherwise! It's also worth mentioning that they cater for vegan and vegetarian customers.

The bus route allows you the chance to spot some of the most iconic landmarks in London, such as Nelson's Column, Marble Arch, Piccadilly Circus and Westminster Abbey. It's particularly exciting to see the locations you're so used to seeing on a standard Monopoly board. However, I was far too invested in playing the game itself to take too many of the sights in...

In regards to the game itself, you're given a tablet per table at the start of the experience and play against other tables on the bus digitally. After a brief introduction from the conductor and an instruction video on the tablets, the game begins! From building your own houses, to practical challenges to escape from jail, to trivia questions about London, there's never a dull moment onboard and the 90 minute tour passes by in the blink of an eye.

It's expertly timed to allow breaks from the game to enjoy the food and drink offerings, and the attention from staff is second to none. Everyone serving on board was introduced at the start of the tour and came across warm, friendly and as though nothing was too much trouble. While the bus is slightly bumpy at times, the drinks are served in themed (of course) lidded cups to avoid any spillages on the journey, which is definitely needed!

From start to finish, the experience is exceptional. The attention to detail is brilliant, and any fan of Monopoly will not be disappointed. Whether with friends or family, this tour is perfect for all ages to enjoy!
